Triple Stroke Roll With The Right Hand Planted On The Floor Tom

An orchestration that involves planting the left hand on the snare.

In this double stroke triplet orchestration concept you will plant the left hand on the snare whilst the right moves around various other parts of the kit. This helps to further emphasize the odd rhythm created by the sticking. The idea has been applied in other rudiments and you can find links to these and other useful lessons at the bottom of the page.

Remember, you hands will always be playing a double stroke triplet in all exercises on this page. I have included feet, it may be worth removing them whilst you are learning the orchestration then adding them back in later. Experiment with using different feet patterns from our previous lessons.
