Full Bar Fills Using 16th Note Grouping Orchestrations

In this lesson you will be using the orchestrations given in our 16th Note Groupings lesson to an 'A A A B' structure as a fill. The aim here is to get you more comfortable using these rhythms in your fill construction.

For each exercise you will be reminded of the original orchestration followed by a four bar pattern where it is used as the fill. Two examples have been given for each different grouping.

TASK:

1. Using the 2 minute rule, get all phrases up to a tempo of at least 120bpm.
2. Use different grooves in each example.
3. Create your own phrased patterns using different grooves and orchestrations.
