One Beat Fills Starting On The '+' After Beat 1 Of A 4/4 Bar

In this lesson you will be learning another one beat fill but this time it will fall on an +' count rather than a number. This will create a slightly odd timing that will make the fill stand out. The part will be similar to others you have learned at this level and you can find some of these linked at the bottom of the page.

This placement is a little odd as most fills start and/or end on a numbered count and happen even less commonly at the start of a bar. Placing some kind of accent at the end of the fill such as a crash and bass drum can add to that odd feel in a really good way. In fact crashes could be placed through the rest of the bar to make an interesting pattern, that will be showed in at least one example later on.

Listed below are a few examples of this fill applied within a one bar pattern. Various different rhythms and orchestrations have been used but there are many more options. Use the given parts as a basis to create your own patterns.
