'1 2 4' Exercise With Different Rudiments On The Feet

In this lesson you will be re visiting the '1 2 3 4' exercise from level one and playing it with the feet using various rudiments. For the sake of keeping the patterns simple the triplet has been removed from the original exercise. The intention of this exercise is to improve speed, stamina and rhythmic accuracy and this will be much more affectively done when combined with the Two Minute Rule.

For each exercise shown below a different rudiment has been used. You will then play this rudiment first as quarter notes, then eighth notes and finally sixteenth notes. All as one continuous exercise. Remember when you start the exercise as quarter note, you will need to be able to play sixteenth notes at the same tempo so don't rush too much.

Two versions of each exercise have been provided, one using double kick and one split between bass drum and hi hat.
