R L L F Fills - Right Hand Orchestration

The fills in this lesson will all follow the 'R L L F' sticking and will involve moving the right hand to different parts of the kit. If you have covered the linked lesson these fills will be very easy as very little is changing.

In each example you will be presented with a variation on the basic pattern that you can apply as a fill. In some cases accents and ghost notes are used, some use all non accented notes and some use a mixture. A note on the concept used for each example has been given to help you create further variations.

Example 1

Using accents and ghost notes, keep all right hands on the snare except one which will be played in a tom. A fill based on the R L L F pattern

Example 2

Move two right hands to toms.

A fill based on the R L L F pattern

Example 3

Play all right hands on one tom.

Example 4

Example 5

Example 6
