8th - 16th Double Kick Under 16th Hands

Exercises to work on double kick speed and accuracy.

In this lesson you will be developing your double kick speed and accuracy using simple combinations of eighth and sixteenth notes. In each version shown on this page you will be playing a continuous sixteenth note single stroke on the hands under which you will play a group of eighth note kicks followed by sixteenth note kicks. Having the hands as a 'base' to match the feet to will give the feet something to 'latch on to', allowing you to hear and feel more clearly if your placement is accurate. When combined with the Two Minute Rule this becomes a very powerful exercise for foot feet.

The movements used in these exercises are very similar to our Copying The Hands With Double Kick lessons. If you are struggling with the parts on this page it would be worth looking back at this lessons.

Listed below are several versions of this exercise that involve playing various different lengths of note value. I have also included some exercises in 3/4 to make things a bit more interesting.
