Triple Stroke Roll With Eighth Note Feet

In this lesson you will be adding swung eighth note feet patterns underneath the triple stroke roll. The hands will all be played as eighth note triplets and the feet fall on the first and third of each block. At all points in the following exercises make sure the foot lines up with the appropriate hand.

  • Using the 2 minute rule, get the exercises up to a tempo of 130bpm with good hand technique.
  • Reverse the sticking in each exercise.
  • Create your own feet patterns for the exercises.
  • Play all 6 exercises as a continuous 6 bar pattern, then repeat.
