'AAAB' In 4/4 Based On A Simple Eight Note Sixteenth Grouping

In this lesson you will be shown five simple 'AAAB' patterns in 4/4, all of which have a rhythmic theme, which in this case will be a grouping of eight sixteenth notes. You can find a link to the basic groove lesson at the bottom of the page along with some other useful lessons. I recomend you work through the lesson on the straight groove before trying these patterns as it will make life a little easier. A certain level of stamina on the feet will be required here also. The point of these exercises is to both improve your double kick playing and to give you some ideas for applying this groove concept practically.

There won't really be much new in terms of part construction, this page will be all about maintaining that sixteenth note rhythm while various other things are happening over the hands. Use all given examples as a starting point to create your own versions of the part.
