Adding A 'C' Section To An Eight Bar Phrase In 6/8

In this lesson you will continue developing ideas for phrasing, this time in the Time Signature Of 6/8 using and Eight Bar Phrase that includes three different sections. A similar idea has been covered in 4/4 in the lesson linked previously and the parts presented on this page will follow the exact same idea just in the new time signature. The intention here is to improve your ability to play in 6/8, develop your ideas for building parts and to improve your ability to switch between grooves and fills.

Below are a few examples of an A A A B A A A C structure where 'A' is a groove, 'B' is a subtle variation or short fill and 'C' is a standard fill. Various ideas for fill construction have been used. When you have learned the given examples have a go at creating your own parts. The structure for the examples will be this:
